Fee Schedule

Summer Hours - Beginning of Daylight Saving Time - 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Winter Hours - End of Daylight Savings Time - 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.


Daily Fees

Day Use Fee --- $12.00

This is a vehicle only day use fee and will allow only one vehicle into the State Park on the date of purchase. The day use fee does not cover any other fees.

Boat / Day Use -- $ 22.00
This fee will allow one vehicle and one boat into the park on the date of purchase. There is a $10.00 fee for each additional boat.
Boat Only -- $ 10.00
Good for one boat only.
Senior Day Use -- $11.00

For persons 62 years of age or older. Proof of age based on California Driver License or other government issued identification.

Boat Camping -- $20.00

This is an over night camping fee for those wishing to spend the night on their boat. This fee does not cover the day use fee or day boating fee. To see if your boat qualifies and how to where to register -- Click Here


Annual / Special Passes
Passes may be moved to any vehicle.

California Explorer Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass -- $195.00

If you plan to surf the golden beaches of Southern California or visit other beautiful parks along California’s coast, inland areas or reservoirs, the Surf Explorer Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass at $195 is the pass for you. The Surf Explorer provides access to most California State Parks, State Recreation Areas and State Beaches that collect a vehicle day use fee. The Surf Explorer Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass is valid for 12 months from the month purchased. The pass is available for purchase now, and valid beginning January 1, 2014. This pass does not provide access to Off Highway Motor Vehicular Recreation Areas (OHV), is not valid for camping, oversize vehicle fees, extra vehicle fees or other supplemental fees, and is valid only in parks operated by California State Parks. Poppy Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass -- $125.00
Poppy Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass is a great value for frequent visitors of many of the premiere destination parks such as the majestic forests of Big Basin and Big Sur and awe-inspiring redwoods and beaches of the north coast, recreational opportunities within the inland parks and reservoirs, the tranquil central coast, and the magnificent Sierra mountain ranges. This pass does not provide access to Off Highway Motor Vehicular Recreation Areas (OHV), is not valid at the high demand Southern California Beach Parks is not valid for camping, oversize vehicle fees, extra vehicle fees or other supplemental fees, and is valid only in parks operated by California State Parks. Annual Boat Use Pass -- $100.00

Valid at all State-operated parks with day use facilities and State-operated boat launching facilities. This pass is good for one boat and does not cover the day use fee. There is a $10.00 fee for any additional boats.

Historian Passport Day Use Admission Annual Pass -- $50.00

The Historian Passport Day Use Admission Annual Pass provides entry for up to four persons unlimited access to many State Historic Parks that charge a per-person admission fee or a Vehicle Day Use Fee. Visit an authentic California Mission, learn about California’s Gold Rush and discover the stories unveiled by over a million historic artifacts around the Golden State. This wallet sized pass is available for purchase now, and valid beginning January 1, 2014 and valid 12 months from month of purchase.  The pass is free with the purchase of the 150th Commemorative Vehicle Day Use Annual Pass, or available for purchase separately.  This pass does not provide access to Off Highway Motor Vehicular Recreation Areas (OHV), is valid only at select units and not valid at high demand Southern California beach parks, at California state reservoirs and is not valid for camping, oversize vehicle fees, extra vehicle fees or other supplemental fees, and is valid only in parks operated by California State Parks.  For a complete list of state historic parks accepting and not accepting the pass, click here.

Disabled Discount Pass -- $3.50 - Lifepass
For permanently disabled persons a discount card may be obtained from the Department. Permits year-round 50% discount for use of all basic facilities (including parking and camping) in State-operated parks except Hearst San Simeon SHM. The discount does not apply to fees under $2.00 or for supplementary fees, and cannot be used with any other discount/pass program or for commercial use. click here
Distinguished Veteran Pass - No Fee - Lifepass

Honorably discharged war veterans who are residents of California with an overall / combined rating at 50% or greater service-connected disability, or were held as prisoners of war by forces hostile to the United States, or recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor are eligible to receive the Distinguished Veteran Pass (formerly Disabled War Veteran/Prisoner of War Pass).

Entitles the holder to the use of all basic facilities (including day use and camping) in California State Park operated units at no charge. The pass is not valid at units operated by local government, private agencies or concessionaires.  It is not valid for group use or sites, special events, commercial use, or for supplemental fees and cannot be used in conjunction with any other pass and/or discount. Golden Bear Pass -- $5.00 Calendar year (January - December)
Under the law, any qualifying person receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) [CA State Welfare and Institutions Code Section 12200]; any person receiving aid under the applicable aid codes in the CalWORKS Program; or any person 62 years of age or older with income limitations specified on the application form is eligible to receive the Golden Bear Pass.

The pass must be renewed each calendar year.  Entitles the bearer and spouse or registered domestic partner entry to most California State Park operated units where vehicle day use fees are collected, except Candlestick Point State Recreation Area, at no charge.  The pass is not valid at units operated by local government, private agencies or concessionaires. It is not valid for per-person entry or tour fees (such as museums), boat use, camping, group use or sites, special events, commercial use, or for supplemental fees and cannot be used in conjunction with any other pass and/or discount.
